Two-thirds of goods more costly in Dublin

TWO out of three of all common household goods and services are more expensive in Dublin than other towns and cities in the country, according to a survey.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office confirm the higher cost of living in Dublin than in the regions, with average prices 4.4% more expensive in the capital.

Overall, a third of all items surveyed cost over 3% more in the capital than elsewhere in the country.
