Call for action to restore competitiveness

IRELAND runs the risk of remaining in an economic depression unless it immediately takes steps to restore economic competitiveness.

The National Competitiveness Council made the claim as it launched Getting Fit Again: The Short Term Priorities to Restore Competitiveness.

The report says export-led growth is the only sustainable route to maintaining living standards and securing long-term prosperity.
