Amnesty to repeat calls for probe into suspected rendition flights
Amnesty International’s Ireland section says voluntary observers monitoring flights at Shannon Airport recorded landings by aircraft known to be used by the US security agency, the CIA, in recent weeks.
Rendition flights are used by the US to swoop on suspected terrorists overseas and move them to an ally country where they can be detained indefinitely, interrogated and tortured without access to lawyers or the usual rights that detainees and prisoners are entitled to under US law.
