THE Employment Appeals Tribunal’s workload increased by 72% last year and it has more than doubled again since January.

The figures, contained in its annual report, prompted Tánaiste Mary Coughlan to label it a “front line” in the country’s increasingly turbulent labour market.

The Tánaiste and Enterprise minister brought the report to Cabinet yesterday.
