A PRODUCTION gaffe has exposed the failure of Tánaiste Mary Coughlan’s department to meet targets and left her accused of watering down goals.

The Department of Enterprise’s annual output statement for 2009 was circulated to an Oireachtas Committee yesterday. It listed its projects and ambitions for the year.

However, the computer file mistakenly included targets from previous years which were deleted or changed. These were reprinted because of a quirk in the Microsoft Word programme.
