Wind farms to create 150 jobs

A CAVAN company is to create 150 jobs at 10 new wind farms, producing enough electricity to power 135,000 houses annually.

In an investment worth €740 million, Galetech Energy will locate the wind farms in Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Westmeath, Meath, Sligo, Offaly, Laois and Longford.

It is expected the construction phase will employ 1,500 people, while a further 3,500 will be created in industries supporting the development, manufacture and operation of the wind turbines and ancillary works.
