Affordable home sale rules could be scrapped
In a move to help shift the market’s oversupply of houses, the Department of the Environment confirmed it is “giving consideration” to abolishing the clause.
Under current guidelines, if a person sells a house purchased under the affordable housing scheme within 20 years, they will have to pay the local authority a percentage of the proceeds of the sale.
