Apartments bill timing branded as ‘cynical’

A NEW law has been published to bring order to the relationship between apartment owners and their management companies in a move Fine Gael branded cynical electioneering.

Justice Minister Dermot Ahern and Environment Minister John Gormley held a joint press conference yesterday to outline the new legislation.

Fine Gael said it had come too late and had been published to curry favour with apartment owners likely to vote against the Government.
