The RTÉ economics editor-turned-Blueshirt bombshell was finally ready for his close-up, sweeping down the grand Georgian stairs, his tinted glasses glistened in the Hollywood- style sunshine after teasing the assembled media throng with a 17-minute wait.
The Fine Gael hype machine had been working overtime drumming-up exposure for its mystery Dublin South by-election candidate, throwing out salivating clues to the media such as that the glamorous figure would be “male” and a “celebrity”.
