Couple win €46k Killarney wedding

A COUPLE who met on a skiing holiday in Italy two years ago have landed a dream wedding prize worth e46,000.

Aidan Clifford, 28, from Milltown, Co Kerry, and Ellen Spence, 29, from Mageralin, Co Armagh, fell in love on the slopes and will marry in Killarney on September 4.

They were among hundreds of couples from all over Ireland who travelled to Wedding Journal shows in Cork, Dublin and Belfast in a bid to win a prize that covers an entire wedding package.

Brides and grooms-to-be had two minutes to record a video entry in a Cupid’s Love Cloud explaining why they should win the prize.

“I think Aidan’s Kerry charm and wit had a lot to do with it,” said Ellen who has a beauty salon in Kinvara, Co Galway.

Aidan is manager of the Burren House fashion outlet, in Ballyvaughan, Co Clare.

Their wedding package includes a reception in the Parknasilla Resort Hotel, a stunning designer wedding dress from Kathy de Stafford, Dublin, or Blush Bridal, Belfast, as well as wedding photography, flowers, wedding bands, the cake, hairdos, a pre-wedding spa break in Ritz Carlton Powerscourt and a luxury Sandals honeymoon from Tropical Places.
