My Way most popular song at funerals

EVEN though his ‘ol blue eyes’ closed more than a decade ago, Frank Sinatra’s My Way is the most popular song played at British funerals, a new survey has revealed.

In a clear departure from the traditional religious send-off pop songs now account for more than half of the music chosen as people’s final soundtrack, according to the poll of more than 30,000 funerals.

Those determined to have a novel funeral dirge are choosing songs most likely to shock such as Australian rockers AC/DC’s Highway to Hell and Queen’s Another One Bites The Dust.
