Nunan breaks mould to make history
Sheila Nunan has been elected by the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) to become general secretary when the current post holder John Carr retires next Easter.
The 50-year-old native of Newbridge, Co Kildare, will be the union’s top negotiator in talks on pay and conditions for the Republic’s 32,000 primary teachers, as well as for 6,500 INTO members in Northern Ireland.
