Dublin Bus strike is called off

AFTER the intervention of the Labour Court staff at Dublin Bus have deferred strike action which was due to grind all services to a halt from Sunday.

The National Bus and Rail Union had threatened to withdraw its members from service over the company’s cost-saving plans to lay off 290 staff and remove of 120 buses.

Despite negotiations between management and unions yielding compromises, union members voted them down in subsequent ballots. The Labour Court has invited all sides to talks to on Tuesday.
