Bonner eyes FF seat in Europe

SOCCER legend Packie Bonner has officially joined the battle for Fianna Fáil’s European election ticket in the north-west.

The retired goalkeeper surpassed the 20 local branch nominations required for headquarters to consider a European candidate.

Last month Bonner, currently the technical director at the Football Association of Ireland, let cumainn in his native Donegal know he was tempted by a political career.
