CONVICTED murderer Joe O’Reilly has failed to overturn his conviction for the murder of his wife Rachel after the Court of Criminal Appeal (CCA) dismissed all grounds of his appeal.

Chief Justice John Murray, Justice Roderick Murphy and Justice Patrick McCarthy held that the 36-year-old father of two had failed to prove the conviction was unsafe.

Rachel O’Reilly, 30, was found dead in the couple’s home at Lambay View, Baldarragh, The Naul, Co Dublin, by her mother, Rose Callaly, on October 4, 2004.
