A KILLARNEY councillor whose sons are in the jarvey business, was forced to leave a local town council meeting, under the ethics in public office regulations.

Cllr Donal Grady appeared determined to stay in the chamber while a vexed issue — of getting horse dung off the streets of the leading tourist town — was being debated.

But council manager John Breen said he had advice from the council’s ethics registrar that Mr Grady could not speak on the issue and should withdraw from the meeting.
