Fianna Fáil ‘has failed its candidates’

FIANNA FÁIL has failed its candidates ahead of the June local elections by offering inadequate support and communicating poorly, one of the party’s most prominent councillors has said.

Deirdre Forde, chairperson of Fianna Fáil’s national councillors’ forum, said many candidates had yet to be confirmed, even though there are less than 15 weeks to the June 5 vote.

This included several sitting councillors who felt “appalled and let down” by the party’s delay in confirming their place on the ticket.
