TOXIC loans on the books of Anglo Irish Bank could cost the taxpayer up to €6 billion between now and the end of 2010.

The figure is contained in a PricewaterhouseCoopers audit of Anglo, which was conducted in three phases after the Government announced its bank guarantee scheme in September.
