‘Golden circle’ can be named, Gilmore insists

LABOUR leader Eamon Gilmore insists there is no legal reason why the Government cannot publish the names of the Anglo Irish Bank “golden circle”.

The Government says legal requirements on banking confidentiality prevent it from obtaining and disclosing the 10 investors’ names.

But Mr Gilmore said the Government’s claims were not backed up by previous court judgments.
