Price of love in romantic Ireland unchanged on last year — at €16

MONEY cannot buy you love — especially when you refuse to spend it.

New research has found the Irish are just not eager to loosen their wallets for love — with an average spend of only e16 on their Valentine — the same as last year.

It also found being cash strapped is a passion killer. One in 10 Irish people have broken up with their partner because of financial pressures.
