7bn gamble on the wrong horse’

THE Government’s recapitalisation plans are “a e7 billion gamble on the wrong horse” according to Fine Gael’s finance spokesman, Richard Bruton.

He warned that the recapitalisation may leave taxpayers dangerously exposed to massive bad debts.

Labour’s finance spokes-woman Joan Burton said that on virtually all the crucial issues it appears that the banks have been allowed to dictate the terms.
