Back to dreary world of politics as depression settles on Dáil
The boom times of last week — when Taoiseach, Brian Cowen increased outflows of encouraging language and fighting spirit in his address to the Dublin Chamber — came to an abrupt end as soon as he arrived in the Dáil chamber.
The depression was predicted following an over-generous flow of credit at the start when Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny, walked into the House and offered: “First of all I want to start by giving the Taoiseach some credit here. I was glad to see him speak his mind last week. He spoke so well, in fact, that he caused some type of media frenzy, a type of love-in of the words of the Taoiseach.
