‘I never broke my word in politics’

Handwritten musings about his political life were contained in the more than 350 boxes of private files of the former Taoiseach that were handed to Dublin City University (DCU) yesterday.

The files show that social partnership was an initiative “instigated and promoted” by Mr Haughey during his time as taoiseach, according to his son and Minister for State, Sean Haughey.
