RTÉ silent on possible pay cuts for top presenters

RTÉ have refused to reveal if its top stars will be asked to accept a pay cut.

Amid confirmation that BBC presenters are taking a pay cut and speculation that some RTÉ stars were willing to do likewise, broadcaster Gerry Ryan said he thought the broadcaster’s highest paid staff are unlikely to accept cuts.

The debate over pay comes after an Oireachtas committee said RTÉ’s highest paid staff should accept wage cuts.
