MEGA-EARNING RTÉ stars were last night told to do their patriotic duty and take a pay cut.

The national broadcaster was urged to re-negotiate contracts with big name presenters like Pat Kenny, Gerry Ryan and Ryan Tubridy by an influential Oireachtas committee.

Gerry Ryan, who has a deal believed to be worth more than €600,000 a year for the next five years, has previously refused to take a wage dip, insisting he brings in major advertising revenue to the organisation.
