Union: Dublin Bus jobs can be saved

SIPTU sectoral organiser Willie Noone said the Deloitte cost and efficiency review of Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann, published on Monday by the Department of Transport, could provide a basis of negotiations with management.

He said: “The Deloitte report says there are enough buses in the fleet to deal with the current demand and into the future. That report takes into account the buses that are in the fleet now, but to take those buses out will turn the report on its head, meaning there would not be enough buses to deal with current demand.”
