Town responds to scandal with wall of silence

IT’S a strange feeling. Standing outside the “house of horrors”, the rural Roscommon home which hid such horrific secrets for so many years.

Strange because, although a little dilapidated, it looks to be normal. It could be anyone’s — your aunt’s, your cousin’s, your friend’s.

But knowing the gruesome details of what went on behind those walls, the unkempt outward appearance of this home is a stark reminder of the horrors which took place inside.
