Unions to meet on HSE freeze

HEALTH unions are to meet early next week to discuss the Health Service Executive’s (HSE’s) decision to stop external recruitment of management and administrative staff and review all staff allowances.

The HSE says its spending plan for this year has factored in spending cuts equivalent to 2,457 full-time positions.

The cuts will be in addition to the authority’s decision to stop filling management and administrative vacancies, other than through redeployment or reassignment.
