Eircom keeps councillors on hold with repair hotline

YOU Keep Me Hanging On, the single from Blondie, should be the holding music for Eircom’s repair hotline.

That’s according to a number of county councillors in Cork who tried out the service after receiving a plethora of complaints from the public.

Cllr Joe Carroll (FF) said he was particularly concerned that the automated hotline was so impersonal and it was taking so long to actually get through that old people in particular were giving up.
