Voters are too gloomy, claims Lenihan

FINANCE Minister Brian Lenihan has rebuked voters for being too gloomy about the depth of the recession.

Labour branded the remarks “highly patronising” to families worried about the scale of the unfolding crisis in state finances.

Mr Lenihan sparked the row by chastising the public for believing Ireland was doing worse than other countries in the downturn.
