IT system offers real-time bus data

BUS ÉIREANN passengers can expect real time travel at the touch of a button thanks to a multimillion euro information system set to launch later this year.

The technology will track the movements of all the company’s road passenger buses and inform passengers via the web or SMS when individual buses will arrive and depart at particular stops.

A spokesperson for the firm said the up-to-the-minute information on bus arrivals and departures to customers will further improve the convenience of service for passengers.
