Sunday night riskiest time for driving

SUNDAY night is the most dangerous time of the week to drive, figures from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) have revealed.

Reacting to the figures ahead of this year’s new year festivities, Taoiseach Brian Cowen pleaded with drivers to slow down.

Road safety chiefs also stressed there was no room for complacency, despite the figures revealing an unprecedented low number of road deaths last year.
