Teams all talk in battle for world debating crown

AS expected Harvard and Oxford are proving very strong contenders to capture the overall title at the 29th World Universities Debating Championship, which is being hosted by UCC.

However, Hart House University from Canada and our own UCD could also be in with shout when the grand final takes place at City Hall on January 3.

Some of yesterday’s debating focused on the role of women in politics, and it was chaired by the women’s officer of the World University Debating Council, Australian Julia Bowes.
