WITH collective debts of €200 million, the number of people seeking help from the Money Advice and Budgeting Service has jumped 37% compared with last year.

More and more families are turning to the Government-backed service for assistance with debt, while the average amount of debt continues to rise dramatically, latest figures show.

The service has confirmed the number of people seeking their help each month is, on average, up 37% on 2007.
