Nigerian family can stay pending full hearing

The European Court of Human Rights has ordered a stay to be placed on the deportation of Pamela Izevbekhai and her two daughters, pending a full hearing. The case was due to go ahead on Tuesday, but the court decided to “prolong until further notice” the interim notice preventing the deportation.

Supporters of Ms Izevbekhai, who has lived in Co Sligo for more than three years with her daughters Naomi, 7, and Jemima, 6, have welcomed the news, but still don’t know when the final decision will be made.
