Cutbacks to force job losses in Kerry council

FINANCIAL cutbacks will lead to lay-offs among temporary staff in Kerry County Council.

The council is focussing on three areas for workforce cuts — people on temporary contracts, seasonal outdoor staff and student placement workers.

A council spokesman confirmed the cuts but said the number to be laid off had not yet been confirmed.
