10,000 calls to money advice helpline

A MONEY advice helpline set up just over a year ago has received more than 10,000 calls.

Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) spokesperson Michael Culloty said the number of people seeking help had increased by more than 30% so far this year.

People are now on waiting lists for face to face meetings at its 60 offices throughout the country.
