FINE GAEL will force a Dáil vote on the Government’s controversial medical card move next week.

It means TDs from the three coalition partners — Fianna Fáil, the Greens and the PDs — will face the awkward prospect of having to support the move or vote against their own party.

FG will table a motion on Tuesday night calling on the Government to reverse its decision to remove the over 70s’ automatic entitlement to a medical card.
