FOURTEEN railway workers have been told to call off an unofficial picket or face being sacked within the next 48 hours.

Iarnród Éireann has informed line maintenance staff, who are delaying commuter rail projects in Cork worth €120 million, if they don’t abandon their picket they face being dismissed.

An Iarnród Éireann spokeswoman said legal action may also be taken against the men who are blockading the line at Glounthaune junction.
