Man on burglaries charges denied bail
Bail was refused to a man who was charged in relation to the incident yesterday.
Kenneth Dowling, 22, of 7 The Paddocks, Mahon, Cork, was arrested and charged with two burglaries in the Mahon area.
“It is alleged that he gained forced entry to the occupied house of a lady living alone and that he opened the door of her bedroom. She screamed in fear. He left the house straight away,” it was claimed in evidence by Garda Michael Kiely.
He added there was a burglary slightly earlier at Ravensdale Road, Mahon, where the front door was kicked in.
A pension book and multi-channel box were stolen.
Garda Kiely said he did not expect that Mr Dowling would turn up for trial if he was granted bail and therefore the prosecution was objecting to bail.
Judge O’Leary remanded the accused in custody until Monday, October 6.
