WOMEN frightened that they may have been wrongly given the all-clear for breast cancer in the past two years were urged yesterday by Health Minister Mary Harney to see their GP.

The minister said GPs could arrange for patients to be rapidly assessed at a breast clinic in one of the State’s eight designated specialist cancer centres.

While the hospital checks will be free, women who do not have a medical card and attend their GP as a private patient will have to pay for the consultation.
