MORE than €100,000 has been spent sending schools a report highlighting the need for greater investment in computers — but the Department of Education itself has delayed the €252 million promised for classroom technology.

Education Minister Batt O’Keeffe has been accused of wasting the money.

The minister told Fine Gael education spokesman Brian Hayes in the Dáil on Wednesday that a copy of the report — available on the internet since July — was sent to the principal and chairman of the board of all 4,000 primary and second level schools.
