Search to resume today for missing woman

Catherine Kelleher, 27, from Ballincollig, was last seen in the town at about 5pm on Thursday evening.

Today, members of the Garda subaqua unit will carry out a search of the Lee from the weir behind the village downstream.

Nothing was found during the course of yesterday’s search by divers.

Catherine’s family raised the alarm when she failed to return home on Thursday night.

Over the weekend searches of the river were carried out by gardaí, assisted by Blackwater River Rescue and members of the Civil Defence.

Yesterday, navy divers carried out a search of the river from Wellington Bridge to Blackrock Castle.

Anyone who may have seen the missing woman, or has any information about her whereabouts, is asked to contact Ballincollig gardaí at 021 4871222.
