ENVIRONMENT Minister John Gormley was last night accused of dumping the blame for an embarrassing miscalculation of Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions onto cabinet colleagues.

Fine Gael said climate control targets had “gone up in smoke” as Mr Gormley appeared to turn on fellow ministers.

Figures are set to reveal the Government has significantly underestimated the amount of carbon the country will pump into the atmosphere over the next five years, with the transport and agriculture sectors set to be 12% higher than expected.
