LABOUR has added to calls for the Government to agree to an emergency debate on the economy when the Dáil resumes next Wednesday.

Earlier this week, Fine Gael argued that a two-day debate on the issue was imperative, given the dramatic decline in the country’s economic fortunes during the Dáil’s summer recess.

Labour deputy leader Joan Burton echoed that call yesterday saying such a debate was even more important given that the budget had been brought forward from December to October.
