SHOPPERS battling the credit crunch are saving more than €30 a week on their grocery bills by shopping around.

More than half of all shoppers are choosing where to buy their groceries based on the price of goods for the first time, with fewer opting for convenience.

Research has shown that 56% are flocking to stores based on price, compared to 31% earlier this year.
