BERTIE AHERN lodged £30,000 cash into his bank account a month after meeting property developer Owen O’Callaghan, the Mahon Tribunal heard yesterday.

Mr Ahern agreed he told Mr O’Callaghan that a rival project to his Quarryvale, now Liffey Valley, would not get tax designation at the March 1994 encounter.

Mr Ahern said he was just stating Government policy and the money he later lodged did not come from Mr O’Callaghan.
