A FORMER BBC reporter who covered the troubles was yesterday made Church of Ireland Bishop of Limerick, Killaloe and Ardfert at a ceremony in Limerick’s St Mary’s Cathedral.

Bishop Trevor Williams’ diocese stretches from Offaly to south Kerry and has a congregation of more than 7,000 and 16 full-time ministers.

At the enthronement ceremony, Bishop Williams said Christian churches work more effectively by crossing barriers of religious denomination, moving out from narrow-minded concern for self preservation and finding the joy of huge diversity.
