Gerald Kean consortium in €2m bid to aid Cork City

A PUBLISHER heading a consortium that includes high-profile lawyer Gerald Kean said it has €2 million to invest in a bid to save struggling Cork City FC.

The Cork Hibernian Partnership, headed up by publisher Michael Mulcahy, is also understood to include Cork property developer Tom McCarthy.

Mr Mulcahy, the deputy chairman and chief executive of Progressive News and Media, broke his silence on the group’s interest.
