Gardaí to probe farmer’s death after alleged row with neighbour

GARDAÍ are awaiting the results of a postmortem on the body of an elderly Co Cork farmer who has died of a suspected heart attack following a land row with a neighbour.

Gardaí have begun an inquest into the circumstances leading to the suspicious death following an alleged violent fracas on a remote farm at Mount Rivers, Rylane, near Coachford.

The dead man was named as John Twomey, 65, who lived with his partner.
